Michael Pachter, der bekannte Wedbush-Games Analyst, sprach in seinem wöchentlichen Podcast über die Zukunft von Nintendo´s Wii Konsole. Ein großes Problem: der Online-Multiplayer Markt wird von der Konkurrenz von Playstation 3 und XBox 360 beherrscht.
In den heutigen schweren Zeiten, in denen Sony und Microsoft nun auch den Casual Markt angreifen, fühlt sich Nintendo zu Recht bedroht: Move und Kinect sind keine leichten Gegner.
Zudem fehle es an Nintendo´s Präsenz im Mulitplayer Sektor, es gebe schlicht zu wenig Games für die Wii und demzufolge fehle es dem japanischen Konsolenhersteller an Inspiration.
Und an welchem Titel soll man sich orientieren: Left 4 Dead , dem Zombie Koop Shooter von Valve!
Are we ever going to see Nintendo create an online capability where people can play against one another, with one another, bringing your friends into games? I think you should look for Nintendo to develop online multiplayer first. I think you’ll probably see a game not like Left 4 Dead in terms of content but like Left 4 Dead in terms of co-op gameplay. I think a co-op Mario game would be great where you have three or four players from locations.
Laut Pachter benötige Nintedo dafür aber eine neue Konsole, auch aufgrund der Storage Limitierung der aktuellen Wii:
That is probably going to require a new console, you’re probably going to need a little more storage in the box.
Erwartet uns also ein Wii-Nachfolger früher als erwartet?
