Da uns vielleicht bald eine Preissenkung der XBox 360 auf ~150€ erreicht und auch Projekt Natal, dass im Herbst erscheint, unter 100€ kosten soll, wird wohl den Preiskrieg der Motion Controller (Konkurrenz: natürlich Playstation Move, da ungefähr gleicher Release) Microsoft gewinnen.
Und auch hinsichtlich der nächsten Motion Controller Generation hat Steve Ballmer und Co. die Nase vorn! Denn der Nachfolger von Natal ist bereits in der Entwicklung!
When we do invent something first like the Natal kind of scenario, while we have a researcher working with the product group for the first version, we already have a researcher thinking about the second version down the road.
We certainly hope we will continue to be holding that technology. I really love what Microsoft is doing.
Da erscheint das erste Natal erst in sieben bis neun Monaten und schon wird am zweiten gewerkelt! Das sagt zumindest Hsiao-Wuen Hon, Chef von Microsoft Research Asien.
Übrigens: eine richtige Premiere von Natal wird wohl auf der diesjährigen E3 erwartet. Warum “richtig”? Nun ja, Natal ist eigentlich auch nur ein Codename! Das gab Microsofts Aaron Greenberg bekannt:
I would say to expect us to share a news around E3 time. But right now, we’re obviously in a codename status. We just unveiled this thing about seven months ago at E3, so it’s an entirely new category of games and entertainment. We are still in codename status, and we haven’t shown any of the actual games
Eine Live Präsentation fand auch noch nicht statt (bis auf ein abgefilmtes Video)… wir dürfen gespannt sein!
