Das der reine Handheld, die PSP Go! schon nächstes Jahr abgelöst wird, ist wirklich unwahrscheinlich.
Die Gerüchteküche brodelt trotzdem: Anscheinend plant Sony (mit Ericsson) ein neues Handy, das auch viel Wert auf den Gamingaspekt legt.
Der direkte Konkurrent lautet damit: iPhone 3GS und das 4G, das vielleicht auch durch einen stärkeren Prozessor “noch” mehr zum Gaming taugen wird.
After analyzing the performance at hand, it is no wonder that Sony chose to go with PowerVR for the next-generation PSP. While the exact details of the SoC are still in question, our take is that Sony could go with quad-core setup at 400MHz [8GPixel/s], paired with a dual-core CPU based on ARM Cortex architecture. This would put Sony direct in line against Tegra-powered Nintendo DS2, PowerVR-based Apple’s iPhone 4G and Palm Pre2.
Quad-Core-Setup? Da erwartet uns etwas. Sony wird sich wohl darüber Gedanken gemacht haben. Nicht das sie sich selbst noch mit der PSP und der PSP Go! in den Verkaufszahlen konkurrieren. Ein Handy mit den Funktionen der Go! macht selbige theoretisch unbrauchbar.
